Speculator Volunteer Ambulance Corp Receives New York State Senate Empire Award

Speculator, NY— State Senator Mark Walcsyk awarded the New York State Senate Empire
Award to the Speculator Volunteer Ambulance Corps (SVAC). The award was presented to SVAC
Vice President and First Lieutenant Wade Hartmann by Olivia Patterson on behalf of the
Senator.
The New York State Senate Empire Award is the highest honor given by the NYS Senate to
recognize outstanding small businesses and non-profit organizations that demonstrate
exceptional dedication to their communities and the State of New York. “SVAC is honored to be
recognized for this distinguished award which highlights our ongoing commitment to providing
emergency medical services to the residents and visitors of our community. We are also
grateful to this community for their generous support,” said SVAC President and Captain Ken
Kurht.
SVAC has been a non-profit and 100% volunteer organization dedicated to providing emergency
medical services to the residents and visitors of Speculator and Lake Pleasant, NY for the past
54 years, since its founding in 1970. SVAC’s team is currently comprised of approximately 30
skilled volunteers who provide compassionate care and swift response in times of crisis.
